PLEIN AIR ARTISTS

An Online Artist's Coop for Artists who Paint on Location

We are so lucky to be out and about this winter! Loretta, my local plein air artist compandre, and I have been enjoying various Plein Air jaunts and we are getting very excited about the Dry Falls Plein Air Pop Up in March. For some one like me who is still somewhat gainfully self employed in a manufacturing business, this PA painting feels like a delicious guilty pleasure! I'm so hooked. I am painting again after many many years of not painting - about thirty I'd say give or take an eon. Which is what it feels like: eons since I was comfortable with the materials, the muse, the head set, the groove! For years I didn't want to get back into it because I knew it was like an old lover I couldn't resist and I was building my company at that time. But I'm addicted again and loving it. This weekend out at the lake cabin I will be painting like mad come rain or come shine! Thanks for inspiring me with your paintings Don to get back in the saddle so to speak. My style of painting currently is detailed and painstaking because I need to get my sea legs back. They all look crimped and pressed to me because they are; and I don't care. I paint for myself and I can feel my groove coming back! Yaaaaaaa. Looking forward to painting with more artists this Spring, Summer and Fall. Spokane and Lake Roosevelt area where I live have no end of wonderful things to paint.

You can post pictures on a blog post too. Maybe show the place your painting or the lake? Good to hear how much fun your having. I know what you mean. Funny thing about sea legs, it only takes a bit of salt water sprayed on them to get them back working again.
