Donald, Someone just told me that there was going to be a book in the works of the art in this website and that it was going to be offered for sale back to the artists in here. Is this true or just a rumor?  Thanks for your response.   The person who told me this also posted this info on her FB wall along with MY link to this site.

Hi Donald,   I know that your heart is good however I have had some very bad experience with the Red Cross so I do not wish to have you donate money that they will only use to fill their coffers and never ever give to the victims of SANDY the hurricane.  Perhaps you might wish to investigate what New Jersey or New York would actually like you to do with the money that you wish to donate.  In the past the Red Cross had not actually benefited places that they were suppose to and actually KEPT the money. My experience was when home burned....not mine by my friends..and I took her and all of her family into my home. Red Cross was on site at the fire even before the fire trucks or the  police arrived. They told me that they would bring food and blankets for the family..babies were part of this.. the mom had broken her back jumping out a window to escape the fire..  Anyhow the Red Cross NEVER EVER bothered to show up ...so I used my extremely limited income and bought both food, baby food, diapers, blankets etc.   So as far as Red Cross goes I have NO IDEA how they have a good reputation in the real world..Must be marketing.  They were also suppose to find these people shelter and they did not do that either.. so I am not sure what the heck it is that they do.

So I am now removing my work .. because I do not wish to be associated with the Red Cross in any way.

Thank you Don...I appreciate your response..I so also remember how outraged that I was after Katrina..along with most of the nation..when they justified keeping all the monies that were sent. I like that you have considered looking into doing something through New Jersey directly. I use to work for a United Way agency ..and saw what they did with monies. They use Big Brothers as poster child for agency..yet its the least active of agencies. The Voluntary Action Center actually did way more. But when the UW had left over funds they did not use them very wisely at all..

I was raised by a dad who created the senior center in my home town..he personally never used it. He also found families who needed money and bought them groceries, clothes..He did this in a time when money was very tight for most people..and he really did not have all that much money himself..

I will re post my paintings..and I will stay.  Again I thank you for hearing me  out..and responding.. . I am sure that the Red Cross is good for some things.. I am just not sure what they are after my experience with them..and after the Katrina issues..when they justified in writing why they were keeping the money in theif coffers.. I know that New Jersey sure would not need that to happen.

thanks no matter what you end up doing.., Marge Drew

Hi Don, for the subscription payment you should tell people who don't know how to do it to: go their page and then to click on the settings button on the right hand side then to scroll down to the membership renewal paragraph. I myself forgot how I could do it until I remembered seeing it once. It seems easy when it comes up automatically for you to renew, but if you don't NEED to renew you don't know where to find it. I don't think you should forgo your £10, I don't mind paying my subscription in May next year.

A big thank you for the e-letter with David Rankin iPad tips. It got me to pay my dues and get back in the pleinair-ning swing! Less time with facebook and more time here sounds like a good New Year's resolution. :-)

Are the member page photos posted in order of joining? I know I jumped on board when you first started, but only just realized where my name is located in this wonderful group! I was scrolling through to see how many artists I knew. Pleased to be a member from the start, I am intrigued by all the places people paint, their styles and subjects. Thanks for keeping us all together.

Hi Don & Suzie, hope you are both well and enjoying the Spring.  I see you weren't feeling so hot Don.  Are you up and at'em again?  We hope so.  Weather is warming up here and I feel guilty for only doing one painting all winter, last month at the Oregon coast.  Yikes.  Gotta quit slacking and get on it.  Enjoy your pastels of the cityscapes so much!!!!  You go Guy.  Take care and a big hello from Tim and I.
