Thanks for your comment. Sargent's watercolors are incredible, and I'd have to say my #1 influence. OPA and WA plein air are hosting a paint out in Port Townsen June 4/5/6. Come and join us.
I've been trying to catch up with you since we moved to Washington, saw your work at Waterworks first and left a message for you with Ruth. Then at Lucia Douglas.
Your work has really evolved, but it's been a long time, what 20 years almost.
Hope to catch up with you one of these days. I 'm in a show at Blue Horse Gallery in Bellingham right now up till May 28th,
Enjoyed your new work, congrats.

Absolutely, let's paint, I have found a great place on Bayview Edison just past Edison going south, it's a dike and no one goes there. Maybe when the rain stops we could go out.
Oh, I forgot you are on San Juan, well, we'll be there this summer, I'll give you a heads up when we are coming.

hey thanks David - this piece went through several transitions before settling - it's one of the four I just entered in the Pastel Journal 100 Competition.
Please help me in planning my workshop schedule for 2011. Could you take a few minutes and answer a survey that I have online? Your feedback will be extremely helpful.
David,
Deer Harbor it is! I had a heck of a time finding places to pull over on Orcas when I found a subject. I went back the next day to do a watercolor at low tide as well.
Hey David Its always the body of work that shows an artist worth....I love your paintings.....and so different from mine.......thats what I love about this site,,,,,,,,,your paintings seemingly simple........but complete, bold........shape and color........a treat for the eyes........good painting to you Tom

I especially appreciate the strong design and vibrant colors - so lively and filkled with personality.

I enjoyed your paintings very much! Clear and strong. I like the geometry and the values. I especially like the ones that include the bay--and the houses with trees.

These paintings have a great sense of shape and space.
The colors really speak to me of the Pacific Northwest - nice work.
