hey, there you are! wasn't that easy? glad you're here - can't wait to see some of your plein air paintings here. Should we set a certain day of the week to go out and paint? Like an evening? or a Sunday afternoon? you paint plein air with someone already don't you? I am trying to immerse myself into my abstract work - so when I go out I will be looking for design more than trying to get a 'likeness' of the landscape. Oh by the way, take a look at my website - item about my Lake Chelan Music Fest poster www.evenhusfineart.com. Was a fun project to do, but glad it's over.
good stuff. glad to see you are out there in the elements. you should stop by and see William Reese if you haven't all ready. we go painting sometimes. He'll be signing his new book at Cle Elum, Saturday afternoon at the Stewart Anderson Ranch. He helped me a lot. He's on this site. Lives in E Wenatchee.
Hi Diana,
I don't think the painting has as much texture as the photo. I do use a lot of wet media and layers of pastel on Wallis but think this image may be a little over texturized.
Hi Diana - too late - last night I took the black paint to it and all but obliterated it - which was fun, frustrating, amazingly freeing - until I went to look at it this morning - yikes - what have I done. After scrubbing off much of the black - it finally dawned on me that the composition was totally wrong - so I moved some things around, grayed it down, warmed it up, played with it until I liked it. I'll get it up here so you can see it tomorrow morning sometime. Yes, our mini-paint-out was fabulous! Loved working on the larger canvas - no more tiny pics for me! Can't wait to see your pieces here too.
Diana, re: my remark about don featuring....sorry to have made incorrect statement. i was enjoying your paintings so much, i thought they were being featured. maybe that will happen soon.
